The Crystal Project is delighted to be officially launching our children’s book ‘Feathers in my Brain’ at our next dementia information evening.
The first of its kind in Ireland, this book was developed in response to a lack of resources for children with a relative with dementia. Created by The Crystal Project, written by Christine O’Riordan and illustrated by Nigel Robertson, it sensitively addresses how a diagnosis of dementia can be felt by all the family and how inclusion and openness can help everyone. We hope that families will read this book together and gain insights into ways in which children can continue to connect with their loved ones with dementia.
We are honoured to welcome Kevin Quaid, who lives with Lewy Body Dementia, to launch the book.
Other speakers on the night include Dr Ciara McGlade, Consultant Geriatrician, Sheena Cadoo, Senior Occupational Therapist, HSE and Amy Murphy, Dementia Adviser, Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Topics will include explaining dementia, practical tips for living with dementia and supports and services.
This launch and information evening will take place in The Charleville Park Hotel on Thursday 15th March 7.30-9.30. Booking is not required and all are welcome.
The book will be available to buy after the launch via this website or by contacting Sheena Cadoo, 086 787 1818 or Amy Murphy, 086 781 2217.
